How to Choose...
A Good Running SOCK
Three key points to look for in a Running Sock:
Material Content: Make sure it's a performance fabric. Technical Running Socks last longer, wick moisture away from the feet, hold up longer and reduce the chance for blisters, among other benefits.
Thickness ( this is a personal preference, but sometimes if you have too little or too much room in a shoe the decision is made for you ). Thin works, thick works, too. The more you run the more you learn what works for you.
Fit: Make sure you get a sock in the correct size. Most Technical Running Socks are available in sizes Small to Extra Large, with corresponding sizes for either men or women. A few socks are available in gender specific sizes, but most fit either men or women.

How to Choose...
A Good Running SHOE
Three key points to buying a Running Shoe:
Shop for shoes in person at a Running Specialty Store. These people know their stuff and are worth their weight in gold. Spend a few dollars more for the service and expertise and you'll enjoy the benefits of running in the right shoes for many miles.
Take your time, not your kids. It's not that kids are not allowed in the stores, it's just best to have zero distractions when making a decision about a new pair of running shoes. Allow an average of 45 minutes for your shoe purchase.
Once you have narrowed your choice down to a few styles, make your final decision with your eyes closed. In other words, go for the fit, not the fashion. Yes, running shoes come in some awesome colors and designs but the smart choice is the one that feels best on your feet.

How to Choose...
A Good Nutritional product
Three key points to using Nutrition Products:
Try different categoris: Gels, Chews, Tabs. All have their place, it's up to you to find out which type you prefer.
Try different brands: PowerBar, GU, Hammer Gel, Clif, etc. All make great nutritional products. Experiment well before your event takes place to see what appeals to and agrees with your training program.
Use in moderation. Nutritional items won't save you if you start too fast or wait too long to take some. Especially when tough weather hits, make sure you continue to drink plenty of fluids along with Nutritional items. Nutritional items are a supplement to your training, not a replacement for training.
